Irvine Old Parish Church is a Church of Scotland (Presbyterian) church serving a parish that is a mixture of privately owned properties and Council housing. The River Irvine forms the western boundary of the parish and the A78 the eastern boundary, with Bank Street (even numbers) forming our northern boundary. Glebe Primary School lies within our parish as does several sheltered housing complexes. Red Cross House is also within our boundaries and our church and suite of halls are ‘disabled friendly’. Special Services – especially those connected with national and civic events - are held from time to time throughout the year e.g. Burn’s Sunday, Kirkin’ of North Ayrshire Council, Kirkin’ of the Deacon Convenor of Irvine Incorporated Trades, Kirkin’ of the Captain of the Carters Society, Armistice and Armed Forces Day. Enquiries about joining the Church are welcomed at all times (visit Contacts)
The church is a member of the Presbytery of Irvine and Kilmarnock which is a mixture of 29 town and village charges. Crosshouse Hospital and H. M. Prison, Kilmarnock also fall within the Presbytery bounds and are served by Church of Scotland Chaplains |
