Should you be visiting our area a warm welcome from the minister and congregation awaits you in Irvine Old and you are cordially invited to join with us at any of services, which are held throughout the year at 11:00.

Should young children be accompanying you, why not avail yourself of our Creche and Sunday School, which are held at the same time as our services.

Evening services are also held once a month in the Guide Hut, Mure Drive Irvine. These take place at 6:30pm on the last Sunday of each month.

Marymass 2010

On Sunday, 15th August, the Kirkin' of the Captain of Irvine Carters Society took place in the church. All the local civic bodies including the Provost and Councillors of North Ayrshire, Brian Donohoe MP, Irvine  Incorporated Trades, local Rotary Clubs, Irvine Burns Club, Irvine Lassies Club, were in attendance as Danny Kerr was kirked for his 3rd period of office.

The Rev Robert Travers 'interviewed' Captain Kerr on his work in the office for the past year and his hopes for this coming term of office.  

The Marymass celebrations started on Thursday, 12th August with the election of the Captain and will continue until Monday, 23rd with the highlight being the Parade and Races on Saturday, 21st.

(The verb to kirk, meaning 'to present in church', is used for the annual church services of some Scottish town councils and other civic bodies.)

On Sunday, 22nd August the Marymass Service was celebrated with the Marymass Queen and her 4 Marys in attendance along with all the local civic bodies.
The Rev Travers 'interviewed' all 5 girls and asked about the highlights of their experience of this year's Marymass events.

Presentation to Irvine Victim Support

PresentationDuring morning worship on Sunday, 4th July the Minister and Treasurer presented a cheque to Mrs Linda Brandon of from Irvine branch of Victim Support Scotland. This money was collected at the retiring offering following the Communion service in June.

Victim Support Scotland's trained volunteers understand the practical and emotional difficulties caused by crime and provide free. confidential and independent help through a choice of contact - telephone support, home visit or office appointment - whichever is best for client.
The service provides time to talk, help with insurance and compensation claims, personal safety and crime prevention advice, support if a case goes to court, information about other agencies and help with Criminal Justice procedures.

Ayrshire Open Doors Day

Irvine Old will once again be participating in Ayrshire Open Doors Day, which is being held on Sunday, 5th September. The church will be open between 1:30pm and 4:00pm and all will be made most welcome to come in and see the church.
Mr William Kerr will also be conducting a guided tour of the historic graveyard at 2:30pm.

Christian Aid Week Fund Raising

The total amount raised in Irvine during Christian Aid Week was £8,329 which is an increase on the sum raised in 2009. From this total members of Irvine Old raised £1,203. Sincere thanks are expressed to all the collectors who took part and to all who gave.
